Tailgating 101

Tailgating 101

The start of the official football season is nearly upon us, which means it’s nearly time for some good, old-fashioned tailgating parties. Whether you’re a first-time tailgater or a 20-year veteran, it never hurts for a quick refresh as tailgating season approaches. Here’s some tailgating 101 from us here at Capital Toyota!

Arrive Early

If you think for a moment that you can arrive at the parking lot any later than three hours before the game, you’re wrong. Tailgaters should plan to arrive three to four hours before kickoff. That means supplies packed and ready to go. Keeping a list of essential items can help speed up packing. Additionally, tailgaters should expect the party (and clean up) to continue around one to two hours once the game is over.

Plan Ahead

Planning ahead goes along with making a list of essential items. Take the time to have your recipes ready to go prior to leaving to ensure you don’t forget anything. Make sure you’re wear your team colors too!

Clean Up

No one likes the guy who parties then leaves a mess behind. Take the time to clean up your mess. Pack some trash bags for the occasion. Leaving things as clean as you found them is a great way to maintain the spirit of the game.
