Visit the Tennessee Aquarium

Whether you are visiting Chattanooga or live here, the Tennessee Aquarium is an attraction that should not be missed! Visitors rate it the Best Aquarium in America for overall guest satisfaction, and it is easy to see why!

The Aquarium offers a remarkable journey through aquatic areas and animals through two buildings. Located on the beautiful downtown riverfront, the River Journey building traces the path for freshwater from the mountains to the sea. In these exhibits, you will see brightly colored trout, mischievous alligators, curious otters, and other freshwater animals.

The second building is called Ocean Journey and focuses on saltwater habitats. These exhibits house playful penguins, touchable stringrays, and beautiful displays of coral reefs. Immerse yourself in the marine life of the ocean and discover great diversity.

You will need at least two hours to visit the Aquarium, but we highly encourage spending more time there. There are also many free animal programs throughout the day which enhance the Aquarium experience.

In addition to the two buildings, there is an IMAX theater which will take you to beautiful new places!  There is an extra fee, but it is definitely worth the experience! For even more of an experience, add a trip on the River Gorge Explorer. An Aquarium naturalist will guide the two-hour excursion, help spot wildlife, and bring local history to life.

There is even a free Tennessee Aquarium app which you can use to plan your visit! We at Capital Toyota hope you find time this summer to visit our amazing Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga.

Make a Change With These New Year’s Resolutions for Your Car

New Year’s Resolutions for Your Car

Every year, we tend to make the same New Year’s resolutions: lose weight, read more, etc. So this year, why not switch it up – and do something nice for your car?

Here are a few New Year’s resolutions for your car to inspire:

  • Purchase a quality tire pressure gauge, memorize the ideal tire pressure for your tires, and regularly inspect your tires/inflate them as necessary.
  • Keep your car clean this year – both inside and out – by keeping a written “car cleaning” log in the glove compartment.
  • This year, don’t idle your car when the weather is cold to “warm it up.” This wastes gasoline, damages your vehicle, and isn’t necessary.
  • Get all of your oil changes on time, and keep a sharp eye on other fluids, such as coolant and antifreeze, as well.
  • Lastly – be safe, and stop texting and driving once and for all.

What’s your New Year’s resolution? Let us know in the comments, and visit us anytime at Capital Toyota to check out our enormous selection of winter-weather-ready Toyota models!

Safe Driving Tips for the Holidays from Capital Toyota

Safe Driving Tips for the Holidays

If you’re leaving on a trip to see your family or enjoy warmer climates, you aren’t the only one—December is, after all, a month of holiday travels.

Unfortunately, it’s also a month of hazardous driving conditions. Before you head out on a trip, it helps to be prepared. Here are a few safe driving tips for the holidays!

  1. Make sure your vehicle is in tip-top shape. You don’t want to drive over snow and slush in a car that isn’t in pristine condition. Get it checked out today at Capital Toyota!
  2. Map your route in advance and be prepared for busy roads. If you intend to go somewhere specifically on Christmas Eve or New Year’s, you should consider leaving early.
  3. Stay fresh and alert. Long trips are exhausting. Let someone else drive when you get tired, or pull over at a rest stop if no one can.
  4. Use a designated driver. Even the most conservative of us find themselves drinking during the holidays, and unless you plan to stay the night, not having a designated driver is a recipe for disaster when it’s time to head home.

From all of us here at Capital Toyota, we wish you a safe and happy holiday season!
