Why We Love the 2019 Toyota Land Cruiser

The 2019 Toyota Land Cruiser at Capital Toyota in Chattanooga

Whether you have a big family, regularly travel with lots of luggage (or dogs), or just need a vehicle that does the heavy hauling for your boat or trailer, the 2019 Toyota Land Cruiser is the best choice — and it’s available now at Capital Toyota. Here are just a few reasons we love the new Toyota Land Cruiser:

  • The Land Cruiser means business. Its 5.7-liter V8 engine is ferocious. Featuring Dual Independent Variable Valve Timing with intelligence and partnered with an eight-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission with intelligence, this engine serves up 381 horsepower, produces 401 lb-ft of torque, and offers a max towing rating of 8,100 pounds.
  • The Land Cruiser makes your family’s safety a priority. The luxury SUV comes with so many standard safety technologies, it’s easy to lose count. The Land Cruiser has 10 standard airbags, Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and the Safety Sense P suite of technologies, like Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and the Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection. And that just barely scratches the surface.
  • The Land Cruiser is spacious: Inside the 2019 Land Cruiser, you can comfortably seat up to eight occupants. Or, make use of the 40/20-40 split second-row seat and foldaway third-row seats, and unlock up to 81.7 cubic feet of cargo space.

There’s plenty to love about the new Toyota Land Cruiser, but only one way to learn everything there is to know about it: in person. Stop into Capital Toyota and let us show you everything the new Land Cruiser can do.

Toyota Claims Having the World’s Fastest SUV

Here’s a new entry for the record books: the world’s fastest SUV.

Toyota claimed the title recently with a bit engineering prowess and the help of NASCAR driver Carl Edwards behind the wheel of a Toyota Land Cruiser. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to reach the Land Cruiser’s shocking top speed of 230 mph with the standard model, but all it took the team and Toyota test driver behind the feat was a few engine modifications and additional stability, and their little project became a world record-holder.

So, what did it take? Engineers behind the modified Land Cruiser started with the SUV’s mass-production 5.7-liter V8 engine that usually delivers 381 horsepower, but with the help of two additional turbochargers and other setup adjustments to the acceleration, handling, and stability, they were able to increase the Land Cruiser’s output to a whopping 2,000 horsepower. You won’t be able to get that kind of powerful off a production line.

While it took the team two tries in order to achieve that record-setting speed of 230 mph, what matters is that they got the job done, granting the Toyota Land Cruiser the title of world’s fastest SUV. We at Capital Toyota don’t quite have the ability to give you that kind of power, but if you’re interested in the standard Land Cruiser model, we’d be happy to get you behind the wheel for a test drive.
