Sports car lovers, rejoice: The Toyota Supra is back. Earlier this year at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Toyota unveiled the fifth-generation 2020 Toyota Supra.
This unique sports car, which is the first-ever global
Toyota GAZOO Racing model, has finally ended years of speculation about its
return, after its discontinuation in 2002.
Built on over 50 years of legendary performance, this
brand-new Toyota is more than just a sports car. The 2020 Supra features a
design that enhances your driving experience. Its cockpit has a low,
narrow-section dashboard to give the driver plenty of visibility, while the
racing-inspired seats hug you with comfort as you take corners.
The Supra’s rear-wheel drive has a low center of gravity and
ideal 50:50 weight balance that streamlines tight turns. The 2020 model comes
with a 3.0-liter twin-scroll turbo six engine that produces 335 horsepower and
365 lb-ft of torque. It will come with an eight-speed automatic transmission
with paddle shifters, going from zero to 60 mph in just 4.1 seconds.
This sports car goes on sale this summer and will come in
two grades: 3.0 and 3.0 Premium. Expect a Launch Edition as well.
If you are purchasing a vehicle for the first time — or if it’s just been a while — you might be feeling a little nervous about the process. Before heading to Capital Toyota, review our tips for test driving a car.
Know what vehicles you want to test drive by researching
cars, trucks, and SUVs that fit your lifestyle and budget. Come with your
driver’s license and proof of insurance, and consider scheduling an appointment
to make sure you can get through all the vehicles on your list.
Inspect the vehicle
If buying used, do a thorough inspection of the condition of
the vehicle before driving it. You can also drive it to a trusted mechanic
during your test drive to have them look it over for you.
Drive it how you
would drive your daily driver
That means test it out on the highway at highway speeds,
test it out in city and suburbs driving (paying attention to how it brakes and
accelerates at intersections), and try parking in it in a lot or on the street.
Try out the features
Finding the right match isn’t just about exterior color and
horsepower. Also try out the infotainment system, climate control, and sound
system to ensure they all meet your needs.
If you’re ready to take a test drive, stop into Capital Toyota and we’ll make it happen.
Looking for something to do for Independence Day? Celebrate the birth of the ol’ red, white, and blue at Coolidge Park in Chattanooga on July 3, 2017, with the Pops on the River 2017 event. We at Capital Toyota think it’s the best local celebration and fireworks show to honor the nation’s birthday, featuring an outdoor live performance by the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera. The best part? It’s all free.
The live entertainment for the event kicks off at 5:00 pm with the Operation Song, a tribute to veterans written by veteran songwriters. Until 7 pm, the stage will be dedicated to veterans sharing their stories and musical work. Then, by 8 pm, the Symphony & Opera will take the stage to perform traditional patriotic music, followed by the concluding fireworks show at 9:45 pm. There will be concessions onsite and attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets.
Coolidge Park closes to vehicular traffic at 4 pm, so make sure you get information on nearby parking and the event’s shuttle services so you don’t get stuck. Other than that, we at Capital Toyota urge you to spend a nice evening out enjoying Pops on the River 2017 with your friends and family in Chattanooga.
The 2018 Toyota CH-R may have gotten its world debut at 2016 Geneva Auto Show, but fans recently got their first glance at the new, segment-defying vehicle on American soil at the Los Angeles Auto Show, where the vehicle was on full display.
This compact-sized vehicle has the makings of an SUV in a much smaller package, making it ideal for young drivers and small families. Its chief competitors are likely to be the Chevy Trax, Nissan Juke, and other similarly-sized models.
The new Toyota CH-R’s features include a 2-liter, four-cylinder engine that produces 144 horsepower and 140 lb-ft of torque, and the new pint-sized sports utility vehicle is built on the same foundational structure of the much-loved Toyota Prius.
While we don’t yet know pricing for the vehicle, we do know that it will come with the many standard safety features that Toyota Safety Sense has to offer, such as Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, and Adaptive Cruise Control.
If you would like to learn more about the upcoming 2018 Toyota CH-R or would just like to check out the many other vehicles that Toyota has to offer, contact us or visit us any time here at Capital Toyota in Chattanooga, TN.
